Surface Characterisation and Functionalisation

The London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN) offers state-of-the-art tools for characterising surfaces. The Kruss DSA10 contact angle instrument can characterise the wetting angles (sessile and dynamic) and surface free energy of a sample. The Olympus BX51 upright microscope offers reflection mode to characterise solid samples such as silicon devices or opaque biological samples, with an additional capability for fluorescence.

Each user is required to sign a LCN contact angle user training, safety and breakage agreement, as well as a risk assessment form.
